Eddie Hearn has opened up on his favourite boxing venue and named the one fight in history he like to make happen.

Hearn has staged fights in some of the most iconic venues across the world – including, but not limited to, The T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the O2 in London and Casino de Monte-Carlo in Monaco.

However, Hearn told Mail Sport which venue is his favourite during an exclusive interview ahead of Joe Cordina’s title fight with Edward Vasquez this weekend.

The Matchroom promoter said: ‘For me, I love Madison Square Garden. It’s the Mecca of boxing.

‘Although AJ vs Ruiz didn’t go our way, it was an unbelievable night. Taylor vs Serrano was probably one of my favourite nights.

Eddie Hearn has opened up on his favourite boxing venue and named the one fight in history he like to make happen amid negotiations between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr

The two heavyweight stars have been tipped to fight however nothing has been booked

‘You’ve then got Wembley stadium, Spurs was incredible. Dallas CowBoys we sold out for Canelo against Billy Joe Saunders.

‘There is something special about the MGM Grand and T Mobile in Las Vegas. Here in Monte Carlo as well.

‘But, I think I will always go Madison Square Garden. It’s plonked in the middle of New York City, it’s steeped with history and every time we present a show there it’s a real honour.’

When asked if could make any fight in history at Madison Square Garden, Hearn said he would choose Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr.

He told Mail Sport: ‘If I could make any fight in history, it doesn’t matter where at the moment. I just want Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr.

‘That’s the one I want. I think maybe Anthony Joshua vs Wilder too. I think that fight could well land in America.

‘We will see what happens. But, the main arena there really warrants a mega night and a mega fight. When you get it right, there is nothing quite like it.’

Mail Sport’s brand new weekly boxing podcast The Hook is out TODAY from 5pm

Benn cruised to a unanimous-decision points victory over Rodolfo Orozco on his eagerly-awaited return to boxing in Orlando on September 23.

Benn had been out of the ring for 17 months after failing two drugs tests in the lead-up to his proposed mega-fight with Eubank Jr last October.

Benn rocked Orozco with a number of crisp right hands throughout the contest, yet he also had to endure a few hairy moments himself, particularly in the eighth round.

Yet when the final bell sounded, he had done more than enough to mark his return to the sport with a victory and tee-up another fight with Eubank.

When asked how negotiations with Eubank Jr were progressing, Hearn told Mail Sport: ‘We are just finalising our agreement with Conor Benn for that particular fight.

‘Kalle is doing the same with Chris Eubank Jr. Once everyone is happy we can move forwards with the fight.

‘That’s the one I want. I think maybe Anthony Joshua vs Wilder too. I think that fight could well land in America’ says Eddie Hearn on the fights he wants to make happen

‘We have the venue standing by for January the 27th or February the 3rd. So I don’t think it will be too long now, subject to getting those final deals over the line. We are pretty much ready to go.’

Hearn also touched on how ‘bizarre’ Chris Eubank Snr’s recent comments were after the veteran stated how he felt Harlem Eubank should face Benn instead of his son.

Hearn said: ‘Firstly, he said it was dangerous for his son to take the fight at 157lbs.

‘So, now we’re only moving up 3lbs to give Chris Eubank Jr the right to fight at 160lbs.

‘Obviously, Chris Eubank Snr is now representing Harlam so he’s pushing Harlam Eubank for that fight with Benn.

‘It’s bizarre. We are just focusing on Eubank vs Benn and hopefully we can get that finalised next week.’
