New footage has revealed how Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma sparked an on-pitch flare up against Chelsea, following the Blues bad-tempered 4-1 victory.

Chelsea overcame their bitter rivals on Monday in a chaotic contest, with Spurs reduced to nine-men after red cards issued to Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie.

The Blues eventually made full use of their two-man advantage as Nicolas Jackson completed a hat-trick with two stoppage time goals, after putting the visitors in front in the 75th minute.

Tempers continued to run high after the match, which saw Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the Premier League come to an end and Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino win on his return to his former side.

Footage revealed that Bissouma had refused to shake Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher’s hand after the final whistle.

Gallagher then appeared to pull the Mali international’s arm, leading to the pair squaring him close to the halfway line.

The flare-up led to Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp and Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella racing in to separate the two players.

Skipp’s intervention could have saved Tottenham the loss of another player, with Bissouma one yellow card away from a one-match suspension.

Blues supporters branded Bissouma as a ‘child’ while Spurs fans were enthused by the midfielder’s frustration at defeat.

Bissouma had also been involved in one of several flashpoints during the match, with the midfielder pushing Levi Colwill in the first half after a clash between the Chelsea defender and Tottenham’s Pape Matar Sarr.

Spurs had taken the lead in the first half through Dejan Kulusevski’s deflected effort, before the match swung when Chelsea were awarded a penalty and Romero was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Enzo Fernandez.

Cole Palmer dispatched the resulting penalty to leave the match level at half-time.

Udogie, who had escaped a red card in the first half for a two footed challenge on Raheem Sterling, was shown a second yellow in the early stages of the second period for another foul on the winger.

The two dismissals left Spurs facing an uphill battle to hold on, with Ange Postecoglou’s side adopting a remarkable high line.

Jackson eventually exploited Tottenham’s bold tactics to put Chelsea ahead, before adding two late goals to secure a 4-1 win for the Blues.
