    Wayne Rooney has revealed who his favourite and least favourite Manchester United team-mates were – and his answers might surprise you. <\/p>\n

    The former striker won 12 major honours, including five Premier League titles and the Champions League, with the Red Devils, scoring a record 253 goals. He also played with some of English football's greatest-ever players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.<\/p>\n

    Speaking on former rugby league star Rob Burrow's podcast Seven, Wazza named Darren Fletcher as his best-ever United team-mate. "I'd say Darren Fletcher, he's my best mate," Rooney revealed.<\/p>\n

    "There were a few – John O'Shea, Wes Brown, Michael Carrick – we were all really close. But Fletch was probably the one. We sat next to each other in the dressing room and shared really good moments on and off the pitch together."<\/p>\n

    When asked to name his least favourite team-mate, the Birmingham City boss said it was Nani, but clarified that "there were lots" of players he didn't enjoy being around. "My worst team-mate… there are a lot more than you'd probably think! On the pitch, the toughest one was Nani. He was frustrating to play with."<\/p>\n

    Only six United players played more games with Rooney than Fletcher did. The ex-Scotland midfielder emerged from the club's academy a couple of years before Rooney signed from Everton in 2004 and they were team-mates until Fletcher's departure in 2015.<\/p>\n

    The now 39-year-old moved to West Brom and later to Stoke before hanging up his boots in 2019. A year later he returned to Old Trafford as a youth coach before working his way up to the senior team. In 2021, he was appointed technical director of the club.<\/p>\n

    Nani, on the other hand, is still playing and currently turns out for Turkish Super Lig club Adana Demirspor. The 36-year-old followed Fletcher out the door in 2015 and has spent the last eight years club-hopping between teams in Turkey, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the US and Australia.<\/p>\n
