Moises Caicedo has revealed that a conversation with a Chelsea team-mate helped him make the choice to join the Blues instead of Liverpool.<\/p>\n
Chelsea had been linked with Caicedo for a number of months, when Liverpool unexpectedly launched a \u00a3110m bid which was accepted by Brighton.<\/p>\n
Caicedo though declined to enter talks with the Reds as the midfielder and his advisors decided London was their preferred destination.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He instead joined Chelsea in a British record \u00a3115m deal, and has now revealed that a midfield partner helped him make the move.<\/p>\n
Appearing on Sky Sports’ Big Interview, Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez revealed they had held talks before the move was made official.<\/p>\n

The Argentine World Cup winner said: “I called and told him that he had to accept and come because Chelsea is a great and ambitious club.<\/p>\n
‘And I have to thank God for\u00a0giving me the chance to play alongside him at Chelsea because we all know the great player he is, but he is also a fantastic person, so I’m thankful he chose Chelsea.’<\/span><\/p>\n Recalling the conversation, Caicedo said: ‘It was a nice chat. I mean, the fact that a world champion was phoning you, one of the best midfielders in the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘Receiving that call was very nice and he convinced me to come here.<\/p>\n ‘He said it was a great club, that there are many young players, there was a togetherness here.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘I have always enjoyed the bond in a team because I think that, if there is that bond, we can deal with any situation we may face: pressure, everything. So, that’s what motivated me to come here.<\/p>\n ‘Now, I’m enjoying playing alongside him, in training as well, in rondos. We are always together.
