City haven&#8217;t moved away from everybody. In some ways, that was a really good result for the league. As the season goes on, the gaps will grow.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Carragher&#8217;s comments reflect the well-supported view that City are the team to beat again this year given their dominance under Pep Guardiola since the Spaniard arrived at the club seven-years ago.<\/p>\n<p>However, Liverpool have been City&#8217;s closest competitor during that time and are the only team to have broken the Manchester side&#8217;s run of league titles between 2017 and present day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/21\/77713603-12740781-image-a-51_1699823022802.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jamie Carragher named Man City as his pick for the Premier League title this season<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/21\/77714499-12740781-image-m-48_1699822901502.jpg\" height=\"394\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/21\/77714497-12740781-image-m-50_1699822909883.jpg\" height=\"394\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Liverpool are one point behind City in the league standings with the two teams playing each other after the international break<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/12\/21\/77714507-12740781-image-a-52_1699823067653.jpg\" height=\"493\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Carragher also believes that City are a &#8216;level above&#8217; Arsenal who finished runners-up last season<\/p>\n<p>Jurgen Klopp guided Liverpool to their first and only Premier League title three-years ago but endured a surprisingly difficult previous season where they finished outside the Champions League places.<\/p>\n<p>The Reds have recovered by strengthening in the summer with new arrivals and Carragher expects Liverpool to provide a bigger challenge for the title than last season&#8217;s runners-up, Arsenal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Why shouldn&#8217;t Liverpool go to Man City and believe they are in this title race,&#8217; said Carragher.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They are the one team who have really pushed Man City over these last few years.
