Las Vegas Grand Prix organizers remain confident they will sell out their upcoming Formula One weekend, despite reports that thousands of tickets remain unsold.

The sport descends on Sin City this week for the first Vegas Grand Prix in 41 years, and it is expected to be the most expensive Formula One race of all-time.

Amid the glitz and the glamor, reports surfaced last week that tens of thousands of tickets remained unsold, and that ticket and hotel prices had plummeted as a result.

To the contrary, race organizers have told Mail Sport that they DO expect to sell out the race, and are preparing for over 100,000 fans on each day of the event.

The first practice sessions will take place on Thursday night, with qualifying beginning at midnight on Friday night, and the race getting underway on Saturday night at 10pm local time.

The grandstands are up in Sin City as the world of F1 gets set to arrive in the coming days

The race is set to be a huge spectacle and has been labeled the most expensive F1 event of all-time, with the 20 drivers speeding down the Strip at over 200mph.

It will also be the third F1 race to take place on US soil in 2023 following the Miami Grand Prix and United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. It will also be the first time three F1 races will have taken place in the USA.

Max Verstappen is the heavy favorite to come out on top, as he looks to win a record-extending 18th Grand Prix of the season.

The Red Bull superstar has already wrapped up the title, and has over double the points of his nearest rival, and teammate, Sergio Perez.

There is still plenty to fight for behind the Red Bulls though, with just 20 points separating Mercedes and Ferrari as they battle for second in the constructors’ standings with just two races to go.

Further back, there is a similar gap between McLaren in fourth and Aston Martin in fifth, while Williams, Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo and Haas are all desperately trying to avoid propping up the bottom of the table.
