Formula 1 fans can now get married at the same venue in which the racing stars will take to the track this weekend at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Vegas strip has already been transformed ahead of this weekend’s race with the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen set to compete with hundreds of thousands expected to be in attendance.

And in what looks to be a bizarre addition to the usual features at a Formula 1 event – an F1-themed wedding chapel has been added to the paddock with fans able to get legally married during the race just meters away from the track.

The Chapel, named ‘Race To The Altar’ has been set up to be ready throughout the weekend, set with red roses along with Las Vegas strip-inspired signs. One sign reads: “Let Out and Together We Go,” while another says: “Drive Carefully and Come Back Soon”.

Since images of the chapel were released it appears many have been saying the same thing, being critical of the F1’s decision to allow the altar.

One fan wrote: “Why is this a thing? Who thought this would be a good idea? Why would anyone want to get married here?”

Another added: “When we thought it couldn’t get more cringe than Miami… We’ve reached a new low with Las Vegas”.

Whilst a third person said: “This is going to be the worst GP ever. Everything about this promotion is so cringe.”
