{"id":294310,"date":"2023-11-17T16:24:03","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T16:24:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=294310"},"modified":"2023-11-17T16:24:03","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T16:24:03","slug":"andy-murray-piles-into-row-with-lacoste-ceo-after-tsitsipas-accusation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/soccer\/andy-murray-piles-into-row-with-lacoste-ceo-after-tsitsipas-accusation\/","title":{"rendered":"Andy Murray piles into row with Lacoste CEO after Tsitsipas accusation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Andy Murray piles into a row with CEO of Lacoste after he accused Stefanos Tsitsipas of &#8216;unfair behaviour&#8217; following Greek star&#8217;s withdrawal from ATP Finals due to injury<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Andy Murray has chipped into an online row with Lacoste CEO Thierry Guibert<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Guibert called Stefanos Tsitsipas &#8216;unfair&#8217; for leaving the ATP Finals injured<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>But Murray hit back and wrote that the sportswear chief&#8217;s post was &#8216;bizarre&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Andy Murray has waded into a row with Lacoste CEO Thierry Guibert after the sportswear chief accused\u00a0Stefanos Tsitsipas of &#8216;unfair behaviour&#8217; for withdrawing from the ATP Finals.<\/p>\n<p>Tsitsipas pulled out after three games against Holger Rune in their Green Group match in Turin.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Greek player seemed to have a back problem and will be replaced in the tournament by\u00a0Hubert Hurkacz.<\/p>\n<p>Jannik Sinner inflicted a first defeat on Novak Djokovic since the Wimbledon final in July, and while congratulating Sinner for his three-set win, Guibert took a dig at Tsitsipas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Hats off to @janniksin\u00a0for his win tonight. Despite the unfair behaviour of Tsitsipas, he showed to everyone why he is a future champ and an authentic guy&#8217;, he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/17\/15\/77930539-12762091-Andy_Murray_hit_back_at_Guibert_labelling_his_tweet_a_bizarre_po-m-50_1700235898037.jpg\" height=\"481\" width=\"306\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/17\/15\/77935123-12762091-image-a-51_1700235902213.jpg\" height=\"481\" width=\"306\"><\/p>\n<p>Andy Murray (left) hit back at Lacoste CEO Thierry Guibert (right), labelling his tweet a &#8216;bizarre post&#8217; and pointing out that &#8216;getting injured is part of sport&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/17\/13\/77929903-0-image-a-6_1700226516919.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Stefanos Tsitsipas withdrew from his match against Holger Rune and the ATP Finals, which Lacoste CEO Guibert called &#8216;unfair behaviour&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Murray hit back, writing: &#8216;Bizarre post from a CEO of a sports brand. Getting injured is part of sport and isn&#8217;t &#8216;unfair behaviour&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear exactly what Guibert found unfair about Tsitsipas, the 2019 ATP Finals champion, pulling out of the competition with injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was 2-1 down against Rune when he decided to call to quite because of his back pain, walking off to jeers at Pala Alpitour.<\/p>\n<p>Tsitsipas said: &#8216;It kills me not to be able to finish this tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I had a little bit of trouble with my movement. It&#8217;s mainly affected when I move. It&#8217;s difficult to compete in the match without having to move. This is tennis. This is not darts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The pain was very big. I&#8217;ve gone through pain during matches in the past, and I endured pain, but this was clearly too much to handle\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I had to take the difficult decision to do what I did. I felt it at the second game of the match. I actually felt it in the warm-up with my serve. Warming up on my serve, I felt very irritated and lots of pain hitting me on my back..<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It&#8217;s very unfortunate. I&#8217;ve had two editions here in Turin where I had to withdraw from the tournament. Never happened to me before that I had to withdraw.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It definitely hurts me a lot because this is the tournament that means the most to me, including the Grand Slams.
