Red Bull driver Sergio Perez was invovled in an embarrassing incident on the grid ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After being welcomed by legendary announcer Bruce Buffer, Perez stood waiting to be interviewed and took several seconds to realise that it was not part of the plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Mexican had been greeted by cheers from an excited crowd in Vegas, but was soon left in an awkward position by 66-year-old Buffer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The announcer was introducing all of the drivers involved, and Perez walked up to Buffer after he had been announced.\u00a0<\/p>\n
However, rather than head for his car, Perez can be seen stood next to Buffer seemingly waiting for an interview to take place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perez fought back from 11th on the grid to eventually record a podium finish in Las Vegas<\/p>\n
Yet the interview never takes place, with Buffer expecting Perez to move on so he can announce the next driver.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This leads to an uncomfortable few moments where neither man appears to know what to do, before Perez eventually seems to realise that no questions will be forthcoming and begins to make his way down the grid.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Red Bull driver, who currently sits second in the drivers’ championship standings behind team-mate Max Verstappen, looks to question what exactly is going on before heading off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After taking the lead in lap 21, the Mexican eventually finished in third place behind team-mate Max Verstappen and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc<\/p>\n

Verstappen recorded his 18th win of the season to move further clear at the top fo the drivers’ championship<\/p>\n
Perez went on to have an impressive race despite starting in 11th place on the grid after a decision to pit early in qualifying backfired.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old fought from the back of the field to lead the race by lap 21.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was involved in a titanic tussle with Verstappen and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc for the remainder of the race, yet it was his team-mate who came out victorious to record his 18th win of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Perez was ultimately overtaken by Leclerc in the final lap as he ended up finishing in third place.\u00a0<\/p>\n
