{"id":294683,"date":"2023-11-21T18:24:18","date_gmt":"2023-11-21T18:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/?p=294683"},"modified":"2023-11-21T18:24:18","modified_gmt":"2023-11-21T18:24:18","slug":"gary-lineker-reveals-he-has-muted-the-word-sht-on-twitter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportsloveme.com\/soccer\/gary-lineker-reveals-he-has-muted-the-word-sht-on-twitter\/","title":{"rendered":"Gary Lineker reveals he has muted the word &apos;sh*t&apos; on Twitter"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Gary Lineker reveals he was forced to mute the word &#8216;s***&#8217; on Twitter after being overwhelmed by tweets mocking after\u00a0THAT infamous moment he soiled himself on the pitch when playing for England at Italia 90<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gary Lineker infamously soiled himself on the pitch during the 1990 World Cup\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Lineker has discussed the incident on comedian\u00a0Joe Lycett&#8217;s Turdcast podcast<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Trent and Bellingham can play together but can&#8217;t get in each other\u2019s way &#8211; IAKO\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gary Lineker has admitted he was forced to mute the word\u00a0s*** on Twitter after receiving\u00a0multitudes of messages referencing him\u00a0soiled himself on the pitch at the 1990 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Lineker suffered the embarrassment in England&#8217;s opening game of the tournament with the Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>The former Three Lions striker had opened the scoring in the first half of the match, with the infamous incident occurring 15 minutes into the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Lineker discussed the incident on\u00a0comedian Joe Lycett&#8217;s Turdcast podcast, which will launch on November 24 and see\u00a0celebrities reveal a series of\u00a0toilet based stories.<\/p>\n<p>The former England striker turned TV presenter explained the &#8216;little accident&#8217; became public knowledge around the time he joined Twitter, now X.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/21\/17\/78070801-12775947-image-a-16_1700586070159.jpg\" height=\"354\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Gary Lineker revealed he was forced to mute &#8216;s***&#8217; on Twitter over his Italia 90 accident<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/21\/16\/69454095-12775947-Gary_Lineker_has_recalled_the_moment_he_soild_himself_on_the_pit-a-1_1700585954062.jpg\" height=\"408\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Lineker soiled himself on the pitch during the World Cup match against the Republic of Ireland<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/21\/17\/78070815-12775947-image-a-15_1700586063145.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Match of the Day host discussed the incident on Joe Lycett&#8217;s new podcast Turdcast<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Lineker admitted he was eventually forced to mute &#8216;s***&#8217; after football fans repeatedly responded to his posts with messages mentioning the incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;My little accident became public knowledge around 20 years after the event, about the same time as I went on\u00a0Twitter, as it was then known,&#8217;\u00a0Lineker said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Every single tweet I would put out, underneath would be, whatever I was talking about say &#8220;I&#8217;m going to see Joe Lycett this afternoon&#8221;, it&#8217;ll be &#8216;S*** on Joe Lycett&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It&#8217;ll be multitudes of them all saying the same thing, whatever the subject, if I was talking about Manchester City it would be &#8220;s*** on Manchester City&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Brilliantly witty of them all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;In the end they had this thing where you could mute words, so I muted s***, and I have really not seen any since, it actually works.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The Match of the Day host previously revealed the incident had occurred after he had been unwell the night before the match.<\/p>\n<p>Lineker explained he had not told anyone about his illness as he had been determined to play the match, but began cramping early in the second half.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/21\/16\/69454093-12775947-The_moment_happened_when_Lineker_stretched_for_the_ball_He_was_t-a-2_1700585959058.jpg\" height=\"432\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The moment happened when Lineker stretched for the ball. He was taken off\u00a0not long after<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The ball goes out on their left hands side and I kind of did a lunge at it and as I did that I kind of relaxed,&#8217; the TV presenter told the\u00a0Match of the Day: Top 10 podcast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And it&#8217;s just gone BOOF and I&#8217;ve gone &#8220;Oh my God&#8221;. And I&#8217;m sat there on the ground and it&#8217;s all there.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And I went &#8220;I&#8217;ve s*** myself&#8221;. I felt like crying.
