Manchester United notched a fifth win in six Premier League games as they cruised past Everton at a hostile Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon. Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial helped Erik ten Hag’s side to a 3-0 triumph to worsen Everton’s recent woes.

Express Sport runs through four things learned as United closed the gap to the Premier League summit to six points.

United were up against a loud environment on the back of Everton’s 10-point Premier League deduction.

But they silenced the unsettled home crowd just three minutes in through Garnacho’s spectacular bicycle kick.

It’s no overstatement to label it one of the greatest goals in Premier League history, with the technique eclipsing Wayne Rooney’s memorable strike against Manchester City.

That status belongs to Ten Hag’s new £72million man Rasmus Hojlund.

But if there was one player who Everton wouldn’t have wanted to replace the injured 20-year-old, it was him.

The Frenchman loves scoring against the Toffees, recording his ninth such goal in 16 appearances on Sunday.

Fernandes put the ball on a plate for Martial, who characteristically kept his composure to lift a close-range effort over Pickford.

Fernandes shows captain credentials
