Newcastle fans have been ambushed by PSG ultras ahead of tonight\u2019s Champions League clash in Paris. <\/p>\n
Shocking footage has emerged on social media of PSG fans attacking a bar where Magpies supporters had gathered ahead of the Group F clash. The clips shows drinks, chairs, tables, and even what looks to be a flare being thrown.<\/p>\n
Newcastle fans can be seen trying to defend themselves from the mob. Shortly before the attack, a group of around 35 men dressed in black were spotted striding down a Paris street.<\/p>\n
A Newcastle supporter called Jordan, who posted one of the videos, wrote: \u201cVery welcoming place Paris. For absolute context, we were sat outside having a pint, families, kids etc.\u201d<\/p>\n
Around 1,200 away fans were attending ticketed events at Corcorans, an Irish pub, and Seguin Sound, a restaurant, by the river Seine. Corcorans closed at 10pm following police advice. The Newcastle United Supporters\u2019 Club tweeted: \u201cStay safe in Paris tonight. Stick together and look after each other.\u201d <\/p>\n
There had been concerns about violence in the French capital following isolated incidents at the reverse fixture at St James\u2019 Park, which Newcastle won 4-1. Since then, the Magpies have lost twice to Borussia Dortmund and must realistically beat PSG to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stage alive.<\/p>\n
