A healthy prize pot is set to be divided up among the competitors, with the two finalists each guaranteed to bank six figures.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of big names turned out to compete in York this year and attempt to dethrone defending champion Mark Allen, who was defeated 6-5 in the first round by Ding Jinhui.<\/p>\n<p>Shaun Murphy and Ali Carter also fell at the first hurdle against Hossein Vafaei and Matthew Selt respectively, opening up the draw for snooker&#8217;s other big names. And while there is a sharp drop-off in prize money thereafter, the runner-up will rake in \u00a3100,000 to ease the sting of defeat in the final.<\/p>\n<p>The four semi-finalists will each be due \u00a350,000, with those making the quarter-finals earning \u00a325,000 and each member of the last 16 taking home \u00a315,000.<\/p>\n<p>If no player notches a 147, there will be another \u00a315,000 due to the player with the highest break at the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/4\/590x\/secondary\/Mark-Allen-5089144.jpg?r=1701169695347\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>How to watch the final<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The UK Championship final will take place on Sunday, December 3.
