Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s \u00a31.25billion investment in Manchester United is finally set to go through next week at a critical point in the season for manager Erik ten Hag.<\/p>\n
Sources have confirmed that Ratcliffe\u2019s acquisition of a quarter of the club from the Glazer family is expected to be announced early in the week.<\/p>\n
The British billionaire will purchase 25 per cent of the A-shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange as well as 25 per cent of the Glazers\u2019 B-shares which have greater voting rights. He will pump an additional \u00a3245m into the club to upgrade Old Trafford and Carrington.<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe\u2019s arrival comes at a crucial moment for Ten Hag as the Dutchman finds himself under renewed scrutiny following Saturday\u2019s abject performance at Newcastle and facing discord in the dressing-room.<\/p>\n
United\u2019s Champions League fate will be decided next Tuesday when they face a must-win game against Bayern Munich while still reliant on the result of the other group tie between Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen.<\/p>\n
