Bruce, Robson, Keane would never allow this &#8211; It&#8217;s All Kicking Off<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bruno Fernandes has been ridiculed for his penalty miss against Chelsea on Wednesday that denied Manchester United taking an early lead at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<p>The United captain was given spot-kick responsibilities after Antony was fouled in the penalty box by Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.<\/p>\n<p>Fernandes trusted his usual hop-skip-and-jump routine in his run-up but tamely hit the ball into the right of the goal, giving Blues goalkeeper\u00a0Robert Sanchez a simple save to make.<\/p>\n<p>Sanchez had only saved one penalty in the Premier League prior to denying Fernandes, with the shot-stopper also saving James Ward-Prowse&#8217;s strike from 12-yards earlier in the season.<\/p>\n<p>United eventually took the lead against Chelsea through Scott McTominay&#8217;s opportunistic close-range finish, but football fans weren&#8217;t impressed with Fernandes&#8217; poor shot.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/06\/20\/78661681-0-image-a-2_1701895496606.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bruno Fernandes has been ridiculed for his penalty miss against Chelsea on Wednesday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/06\/20\/78661679-0-image-a-1_1701895493282.jpg\" height=\"433\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fernandes held his head in his hands after his tame effort was comfortably saved<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>One onlooker commented on Twitter: &#8216;Awful penalty from Bruno.
