Vitinho 7, O\u2019Shea 7.5, Beyer 7.5, Taylor 7.5; Odobert 8 (Tresor 79), Berge 7, Brownhill 7, Gudmundsson 7 (Ramsey 58, 5.5 (Roberts 78); Rodriguez 5.5 (Redmond 78), Amdouni 6 (Ekdal 82).<\/p>\n<p><span>Subs not used:<\/span> Muric, Zaroury, Larsen, Massengo<\/p>\n<p><span>Scorer: <\/span>Odobert 45<\/p>\n<p><span>Booked: <\/span>O\u2019Shea, Taylor, Odobert, Redmond<\/p>\n<p><span>Manager: <\/span>Vincent Kompany 7<\/p>\n<p><span>Referee: <\/span>Simon Hooper 6<\/p>\n<p>But they led for so long and the finish line was not too far away when they were eventually pegged back.<\/p>\n<p>A strong start and finish to the first 45 minutes left Burnley halfway towards another precious three points.<\/p>\n<p>They began on the front foot with Johann Gudmundsson curling just wide of the far post after a powerful burst from midfield from Sander Berge.<\/p>\n<p>And they ended it with winger Wilson Odobert succeeding where Gudmundsson failed.<\/p>\n<p>He cut in from the opposing flank, stepped away from Pascal Gross and Simon Adingra before finding the top corner with a shot that took a slight touch off James Milner.<\/p>\n<p>In between those two attempts for Burnley it was Brighton who looked the likelier scorers.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Lallana\u2019s scuffed shot was heading perfectly for Evan Ferguson until Charlie Taylor appeared to kick clear.<\/p>\n<p>Gross looped a header onto the roof of the net and had a near-post shot kicked away by James Trafford before Taylor came to Burnley\u2019s rescue by blocking Adringra\u2019s shot.<\/p>\n<p>Milner was denied by the busy Trafford, Jan Paul Van Hecke sent a thumping header just wide and Mahmoud Dahoud slashed over from outside the box.<\/p>\n<p>But, for all their attempts, Brighton found themselves one down at the break.<\/p>\n<p>It was nearly two soon after the restart when Odobert twisted this way and that to create space to shoot, saw his effort stopped by Bart Verbruggen and Jay Rodriguez unable to turn in the rebound despite two attempts.<\/p>\n<p>Vincent Kompany\u2019s frustration at such a presentable opportunity being spurned was evident. Especially with Brighton increasingly dominant after bringing on Kaoru Mitoma.<\/p>\n<p>It was a while before their possession translated into a dangerous attempt on Burnley\u2019s goal when Mitoma curled over just after the hour. Just a couple of minutes later and from the same source, a left-wing Gross cross, another opportunity arrived for Adingra and this time he took it with a downward header.<\/p>\n<p>There was plenty of time left for a winner.
