    Something appears to be catching in Manchester judging by recent displays from the city's two biggest clubs.<\/p>\n

    And some Manchester City supporters are under the impression bitter rivals United are to blame after they fell behind to Luton on Sunday. The reigning Premier League champions went in at the interval a goal down after Elijah Adebayo put the Hatters ahead in first-half injury time.<\/p>\n

    City's setback came less than 24 hours after Manchester United were stunned 3-0 at home to Bournemouth in a woeful result for the Red Devils. That was enough to leave certain fans convinced their club is currently \u201cin the worst form ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

    \u201cCity <\/span>becoming <\/span>United,<\/span>\u201d raged one follower concerned for Pep Guardiola's side after conceding first for a fourth game running. Another asked: \u201cAre our players hanging out with United players?! What\u2019s happening?!\u201d<\/p>\n

    \u201cManchester City and United fighting for worst team in Manchester at the moment," wrote a third scrutiniser on X (formerly Twitter). "Never thought I\u2019d see the day.\u201d<\/p>\n

    And a fourth followed up with further questioning of the club's current trajectory after falling at risk of going three games without a win for the first time this season: "What\u2019s really happening with the team?\u201d<\/p>\n

    Luton may be new to the top-flight equation, but their goal had a vintage feel about it as Ross Barkley and Andros Townsend each played pivotal roles in creating the breakthrough. The former withstood major pressure in midfield to find Alfie Doughty, who passed to Townsend on the right before his cross found the towering Adebayo.<\/p>\n

    Still, it didn't take City long to restore balance after Bernardo Silva converted an equaliser just after the hour mark, with Jack Grealish putting the visitors ahead just four minutes later. In doing so, last season's treble champions allayed any fears they were suffering from the same bug as nemeses United.<\/p>\n

    That is to say Erik ten Hag finds himself under renewed pressure following their collapse at home to the Cherries, who won at Old Trafford for the first time in their history on Saturday.
