An official announcement of\u00a0Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent investment into Man United could still be made this week, but the saga now risks dragging into the New Year.<\/p>\n
The Ineos billionaire is set to pay \u00a31.25 billion to secure a quarter of the Premier League giants.<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe\u00a0will purchase 25 per cent of the A-shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange as well as 25 per cent of the Glazers’ B-shares which have greater voting rights.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He is expected to then pump an additional \u00a3245m into the club to upgrade Old Trafford and Carrington.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Legal structural matters have led to confirmation of the deal being delayed, but there had been hope an announcement would come before the Christmas break.<\/p>\n

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s \u00a31.25bn investment in Manchester United is still yet to be officially ratified<\/p>\n

Should the announcement not be made by Friday, confirmation would then be expected in the New Year.<\/p>\n
Following the announcement, approval is expected to take around six to eight weeks.<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe is set to take control of football operations at Man United.<\/p>\n
Football director\u00a0John Murtough will remain in his post during the\u00a0January transfer window and is then likely to be given a new role at United once INEOS move in.\u00a0<\/p>\n
