Jake Paul next fight date confirmed after KSI narrowly loses to Tommy Fury

Jake Paul has confirmed he will return to the boxing ring this year, with his opponent yet to be announced. The YouTuber turned boxer will step back into the ring on December 15 after his last bout in August when he defeated Nate Diaz. A location is not yet confirmed for the fight.

Paul tweeted a video of himself training, with the caption: “My destiny is to be a world champion and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there. December 15th is the next step in that journey. Live on DAZN.”

Retired MMA fighter Jorge Masvidal is being mentioned as a potential opponent, while some fans believe he could face Darren Till, who also stepped away from the UFC earlier this summer.

Paul defeated Nate Diaz in a strong showing in August, with the Stockton native becoming the fourth UFC star Paul he has beaten, after wins over Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.

Masvidal would be another step up, a mixed martial artist with a boxing background, with Paul mentioning the former welterweight star on numerous occasions.

However, Paul has also discussed the potential of fighting young, up-and-coming boxers and of wanting to take more of the professional route and working his way up the ranks.

He has previously held talks with Eddie Hearn, stating that he would happily face someone on his roster – which could be an option for him on December 15.

Paul has also had a long, ongoing back and forth with former super middleweight champion Carl Froch, who could be a surprise opponent.

Paul had some strong words for his rival KSI after he lost to Tommy Fury on Saturday night. Fury defeated KSI by a majority decision in their six-round fight, despite Fury being deducted a point for striking his opponent in the back of the head.

“Hahahaha KSI sore loser choking up,” Paul said. “Only thing that got robbed is his hair line. It’s okay KSI me too it’s gonna be okay bubba. I took my loss like a man from the scorecard read and showed the youth how to learn from it and come back to take a win. This 30-year-old man crying for an appeal.”

Fury, who also had a long-standing rivalry with Paul, has now defeated both YouTubers who have turned to boxing, after beating Paul in Saudi Arabia by a split decision.
