Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk's highly anticipated bout has been confirmed to have been rescheduled for February 2024.

The two heavyweight fighters had been slated to finally face off against one another on December 23, only for Fury's bout against UFC star Francis Ngannou last month to cause it to be shifted to next year.

There had been fears that the change in date could potentially scupper any chance fans would get to see the two square off in the fight all boxing spectators want to see. However, those fears have now been allayed, with Fury and Usyk now set to face off in Saudi Arabia on February 17.

Back in October, Fury suffered a scare against Ngannou when he was knocked to the ground by a hammer blow from the UFC fighter in what was his debut boxing bout. While Ngannou surprised everyone with his performance, Fury was awarded the win in a result that left many fans irate, clearly believing the former had bested the Gypsy King in the ring.

Speaking after the bout, Frank Warren, Fury's promoter said: "That fight [Fury v Usyk] was signed and we were going to do it on December 23, but I doubt that'll happen now.

"Because Tyson can't be going into a camp after a tough fight like that, having a week off, December that's eight weeks away, he needs a bit of time to get his body back into shape and let it heal before he gets back into camp. So it'll be on next year, early next year."

The expectation is the added time off will allow Fury to fully recuperate from his fight just over a fortnight ago against Ngannou. Conversely, Usyk last fought against Daniel Dubois in the summer.

And like Fury, Usyk suffered a scare of his own against Dubois, with the latter dropping the former to the canvas in the fifth round of their bout, only for the referee to rule it a low blow after the British fighter hit the Ukrainian with a low blow.

Usyk then went on to win the bout by knockout in the ninth round.
