Latest snooker scores from English Open with Ronnie O’Sullivan in action
Princess Royal watched snooker championship final, Mark Selby says
This year’s English Open is being played this week, with home favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan among those looking to win the top prize. The Rocket breezed past Andrew Pagett in his opening match and will face Jackson Page in his next test later today.
It remains to be seen whether O’Sullivan will face any further injury problems at Brentwood this week after struggling with his elbow at his last few events. He looked in some pain against Pagett and explained after the match that his injury could soon become ‘career-threatening’ unless he gets it properly fixed.
“It could potentially be career-threatening as far as playing top-level snooker goes if it stays like this,” he said. “I wouldn’t be able to play. I might be able to compete in the odd match here or there, but trying to win tournaments without playing power shots I’d be an absolute million, I wouldn’t be able to do it.
