Mercedes stretched out their advantage over third-placed rivals Ferrari last time out despite both of their drivers crashing on lap one. The gap between the two teams stands at 28 points ahead of the United States Grand Prix. McLaren, meanwhile, made massive gains on Aston Martin, and Alfa Romeo’s double-points finish moved them clear of Haas in the vital battle for P8.
