Arsenal have been handed a fitness boost with defender Gabriel Magalhaes taking full part in Brazil’s training session on Sunday after an injury scare during his international debut on Saturday.
The centre-back made his first appearance for his country during the 5-1 victory over Bolivia in World Cup qualifying.
However, he had to be taken off in the latter stages of the game and was then seen holding an ice pack on his thigh on the bench.
Fortunately it looks as though it was merely a precaution and he could now feature in Wednesday’s game against Peru.
Gabriel had previously featured for Brazil at youth level and was an unused substitute for the senior team on four occasions.

The 25-year-old, who has produced some excellent performances for Arsenal, had been linked with a move away from the Gunners during the summer transfer window.
However, he remains part of Mikel Arteta’s plans and was restored to the starting lineup for the victory over Manchester United.
Arsenal looked much more solid with the back line that did so well last season and fans will be relieved to see that Gabriel’s issue was nothing serious.
In total Gabriel has played 122 games for Arsenal since he joined from Lille in 2020.
