Chelsea ‘place seven stars on transfer list’ including Pochettino signing Disasi
Pochettino reviews Chelsea's defeat at Everton
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to part ways with seven of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team stars after the Blues boss called for further transfer reinforcements in the January transfer window. Defeat to Everton has seen Chelsea slump to 12th place in the Premier League and the Argentine has endured a stuttering start to life at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea squad has gone through a dramatic overhaul since Todd Boehly and co took charge last year, with over £1billion spent in the last three transfer windows on new players. However, having picked up just 19 points from their opening 16 league games, Pochettino has insisted that more additions are necessary.
With Chelsea already wary of Financial Fair Play implications, significant departures would have to be confirmed for more signings to arrive in January. TEAMTalk claim that seven players have been considered as available options to be sold and replaced with better quality over the next two transfer windows.
One of those stars is defender Axel Disasi, who only arrived at Chelsea just over four months ago in a £38million deal from Monaco. The 25-year-old has started the majority of games when fit for the Blues, but with Pochettino having a glut of options at centre-back Disasi could see his time at Stamford Bridge cut short.

Three more signings of the Boehly era could depart Chelsea, as Marc Cucurella, Malo Gusto and Noni Madueke have all been deemed dispensable. Cucurella and Gusto have been given opportunities through injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell this season, but the former Brighton man especially has failed to live up to his pricetag. Madueke has rarely featured under Pochettino this season.
Another three academy products could be forced to bid farewell to Chelsea, as the club’s hierarchy looks to make plenty of profit out of Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja and Ian Maatsen. Broja was handed a start against Everton but has been behind summer signing Nicolas Jackson in the pecking order.

Chalobah came close to a move to Bayern Munich in the summer but it failed to get over the line and he has been out of favour with Pochettino. The expectation is that he will be sold in January to fund further additions.
Maatsen is out of contract in the summer and in order to get a fee for the Netherlands youth international, Chelsea would need to sell him in January as opposed to waiting until the end of the season.
But it is clear that more upheaval is on the horizon at Stamford Bridge with Boehly and Pochettino clearly unhappy with the current squad, as plans to once again conduct a fire sale at Chelsea are underway.
