Klopp says Quansah's disallowed goal vs Toulouse was 'not handball'

Jurgen Klopp believes that Alexis Mac Allister did not commit a handball in the run-up to Jarell Quansah’s disallowed goal against Toulouse.
The Liverpool manager saw a late equaliser from Quansah overturned after referee Georgi Kabakov ruled that Mac Allister had handled the ball well before.
It denied Liverpool a draw at the death and saw them lose 3-2 in France to surrender their perfect Europa League record this campaign.
Klopp said: ‘I only saw the video back now and for me it’s not a handball, but how can I decide that? The ball goes to the chest and then I don’t see a contact with the arm, to be honest.
‘Maybe they had a different picture than I had. It was pretty long ago before we scored the goal and I thought, ‘Where is the free-kick?’ I didn’t see it properly but I heard there could have been a penalty for us in another situation, I don’t know.

Klopp said that while he was aggrieved over the decision, he was more concerned about his team’s lack of aggression

Aron Donnum opened the scoring for the hosts after a terrible mistake from Kostas Tsimikas

‘Actually, I am a bit more concerned about [the fact that] I would have loved us to have played better, to be honest. That’s my main issue tonight. In a football way more aggressive.
‘It was well deserved to lose because they won pretty much all the decisive challenges, battles. We have too many situations where we should have won the ball but we didn’t.
‘On top of that we gave the ball away easily at least twice – one was a goal, the other I am not sure if it was an allowed goal or a disallowed goal. Counter-attack, third goal, last line too deep. Defending-wise it was just not good enough.
When you concede three goals then you need to score a lot of goals to still win it and obviously it nearly happened that we got a point here. That wouldn’t have made the game better, but it would have felt better in the table.
‘But that’s it now, so we have to accept it. As I said, well deserved.’
It was a rollercoaster game in Toulouse and played out differently to expected after Liverpool’s 5-1 demolition job of their opponents at Anfield in October.
Aron Donnum gave the hosts a surprise lead after 36 minutes and by 58 Toulouse were two ahead courtesy of a Thijs Dallinga goal.
Klopp’s men showed fighting spirit and got one back via a Cristian Casseres Jr. own goal 73 minutes in, only for the French outfit to restore their two-goal advantage thanks to Frank Magri three minutes later.
Diogo Jota’s 89th-minute goal gave the Reds a ray of hope and they thought they had sealed a point with Quansah’s last-minute strike, but it was cruelly overturned.
