Kylian Mbappe has replied to criticism from his Paris Saint-Germain head coach, Luis Enrique, and insisted he has ‘no problem’ with his club manager.

The French superstar was singled out for bizarre post-match criticism by Enrique after scoring a hattrick for PSG in their recent Ligue 1 victory over Reims.

Enrique insisted he ‘wasn’t happy’ with his talismanic striker and insisted Mbappe must ‘do more’ despite him scoring all three goals in PSG’s victory.

The 24-year-old has now responded while on international duty with Les Blues and calmed fears over any sort of rift with his club coach.

Mbappe’s future is the subject of intense scrutiny with his contract at PSG expiring at the end of the season and Real Madrid expected to be in prime position for his signature.

Instead of engaging in a war of words with Enrique, Mbappe praised the Spaniard and explained he was trying to learn the former Spanish national team boss.

‘You’d have to ask him about the timing [of his criticism]. I took it well, he’s a great coach and has a lot to teach me,’ insisted Mbappe.

‘From day one, I told him he’d have no problem with me.

‘I’ve always worked well with the coaches I’ve had, like Didier Deschamps, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and so on.

‘These are coaches who have spoken to me ‘badly’, so to speak – but it didn’t stop me from playing well and having a good relationship with them.’

Mbappe quashed any suggestion that he was unhappy with his PSG manager after being criticised

The 24-year-old explained he is happy working with Enrique and wants to learn from him

‘I’m a player who’s very demanding of himself, so when I find that demand from my coaches then I’m very happy. I don’t need my manager to tell me I’m the best player in the world every day,’ he said.

Mbappe has scored 15 goals in as many games for PSG across all competitions this season as his stock continues to rise amongst potential European suitors.

However, despite being linked with a move to Real Madrid, the Spanish giants recently released a statement denying such rumours.

The club said: ‘Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG.’
