Kylian Mbappe is used to the spectacular, but even by his own high standards, Friday’s second goal against the Netherlands was sensational.

The superstar striker guided France to victory at the Johan Cruyff arena with strikes either side of half time clinching an important European Championship qualifying win for the visitors.

Having already scored inside 10 minutes, Mbappe reserved a piece of long-range magic for his second goal of the evening.

The PSG forward exploited the space that Netherlands players casually handed him and decided to smash a bouncing effort towards goal after playing a quick one-two with Aurelien Tchouameni.

Mbappe executed his strike perfectly, giving Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen absolutely no chance of reaching the ball as he scrambled across his line helplessly.

The ball sailed over the Netherlands defenders and the shot-stopper before nestling in the top corner of the net to stun onlookers in the crowd, and even his own team-mates.

Pointing to the sky with both hands as the goal was awarded, Mbappe ran to the corner flag while his French colleagues followed in awe of his brilliant goal from outside the box.

Meanwhile, opposition manager Ronald Koeman slumped in his dugout accepting the damage had been done by one of the best players in world football and possibly wondering if his side could have done anything to prevent the goal.

Mbappe is congratulated by his team-mates with Antoine Griezmann and Kingsley Coman amongst those slapping the goalscorer on his back with beaming smiles etched across their faces.

The goal moved the 24-year-old onto six qualifying goals in the European Championship, three behind Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku who tops the chart.

Friday’s victory courtesy of Mbappe’s goals guaranteed France’s place in next year’s Euros.

He has now scored 40 goals in 71 appearances for his nation’s senior team, winning the World Cup in the process and grabbing a hat-trick in last year’s final defeat against Argentina.

Mbappe has similarly starred domestically this season as well, scoring eight goals in nine appearances across all competitions for PSG.
