‘He, with the heart he has, opened up and told me what It had happened to him at that moment, we talked about it.

Suarez also said that he hopes Nunez replaces him in the No. 9 shirt for the national team

‘Also about the number 9 shirt in the national team, I told him that when I leave I want him to grab it. That’s why, if you listen to Darwin’s statements, he says it with total sincerity.

Nunez ended up getting his feet under him at Liverpool last season – finishing the campaign with 15 goals and four assists in 42 games.

This year, the striker has seven goals and six assists in just 17 games for a much better start to the season at Anfield.

As for Suarez, he’s weighing up a move to re-unite with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.
