Manchester United’s dressing room has descended into a toxic atmosphere as players increasingly exchange qualms about Erik ten Hag, according to reports. Ten Hag is experiencing his first ‘crisis’ patch at Old Trafford as external pressure on his job and internal frustration among his squad grows.
United have made their worst-ever start to a Premier League and Champions League campaign, heavily impacting the mood around the club.
The Red Devils have lost four of their opening seven top-flight games, slumping in 10th on just nine points ahead of Saturday’s clash against Brentford.
In Europe, United have tasted defeat in their opening two Champions League group-stage games for the first time in the club’s long history.
Bayern Munich produced a free-scoring display to beat Ten Hag’s side 4-3 at the Allianz Arena before Galatasaray profited from defensive errors to leave Old Trafford with a 3-2 triumph on Tuesday.
And United’s calamitous period of results is reportedly taking its toll on Ten Hag’s players as pressure on the Dutchman to deliver intensifies.
According to The Independent, the atmosphere inside the United dressing room and beyond, extending to general staff, has become toxic.
