Punter misses out on £6k after cashing out on bet with correct scores for £3
A football punter was left beyond gutted after cashing out of a winning bet for just £3.
A Twitter user took to social media on Sunday evening to share their sickening betting misfortune. They posted a screenshot of the betting slip with the sarcastic caption: “Cash out of the year?”
It displayed the ‘treble’ bet on the Premier League fixtures for the day, where he had placed a simple £5 bet at 1234/1, guessing the correct scores for Arsenal vs Tottenham, Brighton vs Bournemouth and Liverpool vs West Ham.

But in a decision they would soon grow to regret, it showed that the punter had chosen to cash out instead of seeing the results through. Had the gambler stuck with the bet, our unfortunate friend would have landed a staggering £6170.
The punter ended up guessing all three score lines, and who won each game, correctly. But they bizarrely squandered it all to save £5 along with his £3 winnings rather than taking the gamble, with others on social media sparing little sympathy following the rogue decision.

One Twitter user replied: “Why!!! Surely was in a good place and worth letting it ride,” while another wrote: “Please tell me this was a mistake.”
A third tweeted: “What’s unfortunate about cashing out for £3? Deserves not to win cashing out for that much,” while a fourth added: “No sympathy for cashing out for £3.”
Others commented: “This is so harsh but I can't help but laugh,” and: “Literally cannot think of any reason as to why he would have even been tempted to cut his losses.”
