Former Liverpool man Harry Wilson got Fulham Level from close-range before a magnificent long-range strike by Alexis Mac Allister. Kenny Tete put there visitors level again despite his strike being ruled out for offside before a VAR review.Ā

Nunez’s new hairstyleĀ
On a day of woolly hats and bobble hats – whichever you prefer – it was the hairstyle of Darwin Nunez which caught the eye.Ā
The Liverpool striker pulled off an interesting new look to go with his pink boots, with his hair tied up in two rows of plaits either side of his neck. With all due respect, it was more schoolgirl than Uruguayan centre forward.
In pre-season, Trent Alexander-Arnold told Mail Sport how his own fresh trim correlated with his mood going into the campaign. āClean, sharp, ready. No nonsense. Thatās the mentality I want going into the season,ā he said, after swapping his dreadlocks for a classic short, back and sides.Ā
Itās fair to say that Nunez is not of that school of thought and after getting an earful from Klopp for repeatedly losing the ball in the first half and then spurning two glorious chances in the second half, perhaps Nunez could do with a little more focus on his football. But there was no stopping him going wild with Klopp when Alexander-Arnold scored the winner.
One thingās for sure ā Nunez provides entertainment and thatās why he is a fan favourite in these parts.

Anfield treated to great goalsĀ
Those who braved the conditions were treated to a goal-of-the-season competition in the first half.Ā
Perhaps Fulham keeper Bernd Leno should not have carried on after suffering an early head injury but no keeper in the world would have stopped either of Liverpoolās first two strikes, with Leno unfortunate to be given an own-goal after Alexander-Arnoldās strike hit his back.Ā
Alexander-Arnold did score his 14th Premier League goal with the winner and remarkably, all of those strikes have come with his right foot. Only Luka Milivojevic (28) and Jorginho (21) have scored more goals in Premier League history with just their right peg.

Ā Kelleher’s strugglesĀ
Liverpool got away with jail here and this was an afternoon that highlighted the value of Alisson as Caoimhin Kelleher struggled and should arguably have stopped both of Fulhamās first two goals.Ā
Away from his footwork, one of Alissonās biggest strengths is the ability to keep hold of the ball when making a save and regaining possession.Ā
When Kelleher parried Joao Palhinhaās header straight to Tim Ream in the first half, Liverpool were fortunate that Ream was offside.

Wilson haunts LiverpoolĀ Ā
Fulham’s Harry Wilson spent almost 16 years with Liverpool since joining the club at U9 level.Ā
When he made his Wales debut at 16, he also became Liverpoolās youngest international but ultimately it never worked out for Wilson at Anfield as he went through six separate loan spells before he was sold to Fulham in 2021.Ā
The 26-year-old only played for Liverpool twice and his early equaliser here in front of the Kop was his first-ever goal at Anfield. Wilson didnāt celebrate and for all his childhood dreams of scoring at Anfield, he would surely never have imagined that the goal would come against Liverpool. Itās funny how life works out.

A fortressĀ Ā
With that comeback, Liverpool are still yet to lose or draw at Anfield this season, winning all of their seven games in the league and eleven across all competitions.Ā
Since a 1-0 defeat to Fulham at Anfield in March 2021, they have lost just one of their last 49 Premier League matches at Anfield (W38, D10). That defeat came against Leeds last October.
Comeback kingsĀ
Jurgen Klopp’s men have lost just one of their last 12 Premier League games when falling behind (W5 D6) and that was the controversial 2-1 defeat at Spurs in September.Ā
With 14 points won from losing positions in the league this season, no side has won more. Fulham went 3-2 ahead through Bobby De Cordova-Reid in the 80th minute ā the latest Liverpool have ever fallen behind in a Premier League match that they went on to win.
