Dana White teases Conor McGregor comeback ahead of UFC 300
Dana White is getting ready for a show-stopping card at UFC 300, but it’s unlikely Conor McGregor will feature. UFC 300 is the most highly-anticipated fight night in recent years, and fans are speculating over who will appear. McGregor hasn’t been in a UFC fight since he broke his leg in July 2021, but he is expected to make a comeback in 2024.
White has, so far, offered very few clues over who will appear at the historic fight night, marking the 300th Pay-Per-View event in the company’s history. The original UFC 200 card, before fight cancellations, featured three title fights as well as the return of former heavyweight king Brock Lesnar.
As a result, expectation is through the roof, with fans expecting numerous title bouts and big-name stars throughout the card. Speaking to TNT Sports, White suggested fans have every reason to be excited.
White explained: “The difference between a 300 is – if you look at the card this weekend, it’s awesome – you want to build these amazing cards that make people lose their mind.”
He also said: “There’s also much more to it with 300, what is the feel of the show going to be? We put on a live event and a television show too.
“What are we going to build around the event? What’s going to make 300 more special than this Saturday night, the last pay-per-view of the year?”
He raised the bar even higher, saying: “What you can expect is the first prelim of the night, you’re going to go ‘Holy s***! This is the first prelim of the night, this is insane, this isn’t even right. These two shouldn’t be on the first prelim on the night’ That is how good 300 is going to be.”

Such comments from White have sparked rumours of Ronda Rousey returning to the octagon after a seven-year break. Rousey has been with WWE but left in October.
As for McGregor, it’s unlikely he’ll fight at 300 as he’s reportedly undergoing USADA drug testing until June, with July being his expected return date.
