Bernie Ecclestone savagely trolled by Martin Brundle on live TV over tax fraud

Disgraced former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone found himself being trolled by Sky Sports' Martin Brundle ahead of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil about his recent tax fraud case.

Last month, Ecclestone plead guilty to fraud after having failed to declare £400million in a trust fund that was held in a Singapore bank. The 93-year-old was handed a 17-month jail sentence which has been suspended for two years after coming to an agreement with HMRC to pay £652.6m.

As is custom prior to an F1 race, former driver turned broadcaster Brundle was doing the rounds with his grid walk before the action in Brazil got underway. During his travels around the Interlagos grid, Brundle bumped into Machine Gun Kelly, before then speaking to Ecclestone.

And it was here that Brundle shocked the Formula One viewing public by asking Ecclestone about his financial troubles with HMRC. "You had quite an amazing month with His Majesty's Revenue and Customs," Brundle said.

Ecclestone, who did not offer up a response to Brundle, did not seem too fazed by the comment but fans on social media were left in hysterics following a classic grid walk from the Sky Sports' broadcaster.

A fourth commented: "Shout out to Martin Brundle. He's an absolute bloody legend. Suitably awkward chat with Machine Gun Kelly. Followed by a sneaky dig at Bernie Ecclestone and his tax affairs. Perfect.

And a fifth said: "Martin Brundle interviewing Machine Gun Kelly & then Bernie Ecclestone on the F1 Grid Walk was a high level of awkwardness that probably won't be surpassed for a while."
