Max Verstappen’s conversation with Christian Horner over Russell crash surfaces

Max Verstappen was confused over the team radio when discussing George Russell’s final-lap Singapore Grand Prix crash with Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.

Russell was challenging Lando Norris for second place on the final lap of the race when he clipped the outside wall on the run down to turn ten, causing major damage to his W14 and taking himself out of the race.

The British driver was furious with himself for throwing away a guaranteed podium finish with the man from King’s Lynn still waiting for his first points on the streets of Singapore.

Verstappen came over the radio to enquire about the incident, asking “So by whom did he go into the barrier?” His team principal responded: “On his own,” to which Verstappen replied: “Oh… ok.”
