Football fans think AC Milan's away kit is so bad that they should be dumped out of the Champions League.

The Serie A giants emerged from the dressing ahead of their must-win clash with Newcastle at St James' Park wearing a pink, purple and turquoise strip that sent social media into a frenzy. Milan is one of the fashion capitals of the world, but supporters reckoned the kit was so ugly that the city's reputation deserved a downgrade.

Some branded it "the worst kit of the season", but others took it step further by saying Newcastle ought be handed an automatic win for having to line-up against such a horrible strip.

A third fumed: "Milan need liquidating because of that awful kit," while a fourth added: "That Milan kit is an abomination." Another wrote: "That AC Milan kit has to be up there with the worst kits ever. How did that get signed off?"

Newcastle headed into tonight's clash knowing that anything less than a win would see them eliminated from the competition. A win could see them clinch second place in the group, but only if PSG fail to beat Dortmund in the other fixture.

The Magpies made the perfect start after Joelinton put them ahead after half-an-hour by smashing the ball into the top corner after latching on to a Jamie Miley cut-back just inside the box. As things stand, Newcastle are going through as PSG are drawing with Dortmund.
