Trent Alexander-Arnold’s late winner against Fulham was a beautiful sight for Liverpool fans and the celebration that followed was also rather pleasing on the eye.

Liverpool staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Fulham 4-3 after some hapless defending wasted two world-class strikes from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister and left them staring at a rare Anfield defeat.

Japan international Wataru Endo levelled in the 87th minute before Alexander-Arnold lashed home a minute later to send the home crowd into raptures.

The England international proceeded to run towards the corner flag before sliding on his belly in celebration.

And some brilliant fan footage has shown that his team-mates couldn’t resist following suit.

The video shows his team-mates flying in behind him in almost a synchronised manner as their supporters showed their appreciation.

Captain Virgil van Dijk was one of those to perform a knee slide and Alexander-Arnold revealed that he may have had some regrets about doing so.

Speaking to LFC TV, the match-winner was asked: ‘The captain’s not happy with you, though, is he?’

The vice-captain replied: ‘Nah, see that’s that’s why I didn’t knee slide, he’s got cuts on his knees now!

‘For someone like him who’s very calm and composed, to be knee sliding when he’s not even the one that scored showed just how much it meant to the team to get that three points. It was massively important.’

Explaining why he opted for a belly slide, though, the 25-year-old said: ‘I’ve got a big cut on me knee so I didn’t want to risk reopening that with a knee slide even though I was dying to do it.

‘When I’m running at that speed I thought I need to do something, I can’t just keep running, so I thought just get on my belly, it’s the safest thing to do.’

The victory leaves the Reds second, two points behind league leaders Arsenal.
