Jurgen Klopp praised West Ham star Jarrod Bowen as ‘one of his favourite players’ ahead of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup clash against the Hammers on Wednesday.
Bowen has continued to star for David Moyes’ team this season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions, and Klopp has revealed he is a big admirer of the West Ham wideman.
The 27-year-old scored the winning goal as West Ham became Europa Conference League champions last season and is one of the Premier League’s top performers this season.
His current contract runs until 2030, but Liverpool could attempt to try and negotiate a fee for the winger off the back of Klopp’s glowing feedback.
Liverpool are well-stocked in the winger department with Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz all preferring to play out wide and Bowen could help provide an even greater goal threat.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash, Klopp told Sky Sports: ‘In quarter-finals, everybody can smell the chance to go through. In a very busy period, finding a line-up which can go and go and go because West Ham is a physically really strong team, David is doing an incredible job, I have to say.
‘They are good again, through in Europe, it’s really impressive. Injuries issues as well. Playing without Antonio, and Bowen steps up in that position.
‘[He is] probably my favourite player besides all my players I have to say. It’s great what he is doing and how he has developed,’ he added.
Bowen will be hoping his current form will be enough to earn him a place in England’s European Championship squad for next year’s competition.
Gareth Southgate included Bowen in his most recent squad for their Euro qualifiers in November ahead of Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling.

However, the West Ham star is unlikely to be departing for Liverpool anytime soon after signing a new seven-year contract back in November.
Speaking to the club’s website after his latest deal, Bowen beamed: ‘I’m so pleased to have signed a new long-term contract at West Ham. Everyone knows what this Club means to me, so committing my future until 2030 means so much to me and my family.
