Saudi Pro League attendance embarrassment continues as just 144 turn up for game

The Saudi Pro League has suffered its latest attendance-based embarrassment as just 144 people turned out for Al-Riyadh clash with Al-Khaleej.

Ex-Watford striker Andre Gray was leading the line for Al-Riyadh, but his side suffered defeat at the hands of Al-Khaleej. However, not many were there to see it, as the Saudi Pro League continues to suffer from dwindling attendances.

The state-backed league has rocked the football world by luring some of the biggest football stars on the planet, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Neymar. While other Premier League stalwarts now also call the Middle East home.

However, neither attendance are the smallest the gulf league has seen this season. That award goes to a clash in September, where an Al-Riyadh home game saw just 133 fans show up.
