Tottenham star Ivan Perisic has suffered an ACL injury less than a week before the North London Derby against rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

The versatile 34-year-old Croatian has featured in all five of Spurs’ Premier League games this season as a substitute and provided an assist in the dramatic 2-1 win over Sheffield United last time out.
‘We can confirm that Ivan Perisic has suffered a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee,’ Tottenham posted on Twitter.
‘The experienced Croatia international sustained the injury in non-contact training and will undergo surgery. Wishing you well in your recovery, Ivan.’
Sunday’s North London Derby at the Emirates looks set to be a mouth-watering contest with both sides unbeaten from their opening five games of the Premier League season.
Tottenham are currently above Arsenal in the table due to their superior goal difference and Spurs star Son Heung-min has fired a warning to Mikel Arteta’s side ahead of the showdown.
Arsenal beat Tottenham in both Premier League meetings last term as they finished as runners-up to Manchester City, while Spurs struggled and missed out on European football altogether.
After losing Harry Kane in the summer, may expected Spurs to endure another tough season but they have started brightly under Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs drew against Brentford in their first match before registering wins over Manchester United, Bournemouth, Burnley and Sheffield United.
Arsenal, meanwhile, drew against Fulham and have recorded victories over Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Everton.
