Premier League clubs now have just three full days to bundle any further transfer business over the line before Friday’s September 1 deadline. Most teams still have work to do in the market before they’re settled on their squad meaning we could be set for a frantic sprint to the finish line.
Manchester United are continuing to work on the arrival of a new left-back for Erik ten Hag and several avenues are currently being explored.
But there is also a chance other players could arrive with a goalkeeper and midfielder also currently of interest.
Elsewhere, Liverpool supporters are desperately awaiting movement on the signing of another defensive midfielder following their gutsy 2-1 victory at Newcastle.
Jurgen Klopp has failed to clarify how serious the Reds are about landing an additional No.6 after bringing in Wataru Endo from Stuttgart but there is still a chance of midfield and defensive reinforcements before the deadline.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham also remain busy in terms of outgoings and there is still every chance there could be further arrivals, too.
Express Sport keeps you posted with the latest transfer news on Wednesday, August 30.
Liverpool offered Arsenal deal
GFFN are reporting that Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Albert Sambi Lokonga by his representatives.
Lokonga remains available for transfer but there has been little movement on his future to date following his miserable loan spell with Crystal Palace.
The Belgian was also recently considered by Brighton but the Seagulls have cooled their interest.
Liverpool could do with another defensive-minded midfielder after losing Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia.
Man Utd dilemma
Manchester United will have to cough up an extra £5million if they want to sign Marc Cucurella on loan from Chelsea.
That’s because United offered an initial £2m loan fee while Chelsea want £7m from their rivals.
The Blues have cover at left-back in Ian Maatsen meaning Mauricio Pochettino is open to letting the Spaniard depart.
United do have other options in play though including Sergio Reguilon, Nicolas Tagliafico, Luke Thomas and Marco Alonso.
Chelsea want Sancho
Chelsea are considering a shock move for Jadon Sancho according to The Secret Scout.
Sancho has had a terrible time at Old Trafford since making his big-money switch from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
Now the Blues are considering him as part of a revised attacking shortlist that also features other big names.
Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Raphinha are also said to be admired by Mauricio Pochettino.
