Every Man Utd star Ten Hag has fallen out with as Varane relationship stutters

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has reportedly become the latest player to fall out with Erik ten Hag.

The French World Cup winner is supposedly on the Dutchman's naughty list coming into the festive season and the January transfer window. He and Lisandro Martinez were pivotal to United's impressive campaign last season which saw them finish third and win the League Cup.

However, various reports understand he has grown unhappy with the little minutes he has been given since he returned from injury. As Varane has become the latest player to have allegedly been given the cold shoulder by Ten Hag, Daily Star Sport has a look at the other players to fall out with the United boss.

From being one of United's most dependable players, to being stuck in the same wilderness as Harry Maguire last season, it's been quite a fall from grace for the ex-Real Madrid defender. Reports from the Daily Mail understand the experienced defender is furious with being stuck behind Maguire, Victor Lindelof and, at times, Johnny Evans.

A "frank exchange of views" reportedly took place between Varane and Ten Hag after he was dropped for the Manchester Derby at the end of October. Lindelof was also preferred to Varane in United's recent 1-0 victory over Luton. It's also understood Bayern Munich are now keeping tabs on the Frenchman's status at United.

Ten Hag took a huge gamble when he picked a fight with Cristiano Ronaldo – five-time Ballon d'Or winner, five-time Champions League winner and one of the club's greatest ever players. With the intention of enacting a high-pressing style, Ten Hag repeatedly left Ronaldo on the bench to the fury of the ex-Real Madrid superstar.

Thing took a fast turn when Ronaldo refused to come on as a substitute in a victory against Tottenham Hotspur and then stormed down the tunnel before the match had even finished. Heading into the World Cup, Ronaldo then had 'that' interview with Piers Morgan which saw him accuse Ten Hag of "disrespect" and "betrayal." His contract was then torn up by United, paving a way for him to move to Saudi Arabia, after Portugal were knocked out of the competition by Morocco in the quarter-finals.

Jadon Sancho

Last season, Ten Hag's man-management skills were heralded when a bright, lively and effective Sancho tore Liverpool apart at Old Trafford – how quickly things change. The ex-Borussia Dortmund man is stuck in the Old Trafford wilderness having effectively accused Ten Hag of lying about the reasoning behind his absence from United's 3-1 away loss to Arsenal.

After the Dutchman said Sancho's performances in training were behind his omission from the United squad, Sancho took to X and said: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training well this week." Neither Ten Hag or Sancho have shown any signs of backing down in their stand-off.

Dean Henderson

Out of all the players Ten Hag has fallen out with, the plight of former England goalkeeper Dean Henderson is particularly unique. Desperate to get out of United after a season spent on the bench, Henderson refused to even meet Ten Hag, who was keen in retaining the now Crystal Palace goalkeeper at the start of the 2022-23 season.

In January, Ten Hag and Henderson reportedly had a video call to see if the latter was interested in ending his loan spell with Nottingham Forest to return to Old Trafford. After Henderson said he wanted to see out his spell with Forest, reports from the Manchester Evening News claimed Ten Hag was feeling "p***ed off" with the one cap England international.

Zidane Iqbal

During a training session, Ten Hag was heard lambasting the former academy star. “Keep the ball on the floor! Zidane! Hey! Keep the ball on the floor,” shouted Ten Hag during one of his first United training sessions. “F***ing rubbish!”

Surprisingly, Iqbal did not play a single minute for United under Ten Hag and was quickly sold to Utrecht for a miniscule fee. Considering he had signed a long-term deal in the summer of 2022 and had Champions League experience under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, this was one of Ten Hag's most ruthless decisions as United boss.

Andre Onana

The arrival of Andre Onana raised plenty of eyebrows for a variety of different reasons. As well as the fact United looked like they were going to keep former goalkeeper David De Gea, Ten Hag and the Cameroonian goalkeeper left each other at Ajax on terrible terms.

After making a mistake during a 2-1 victory over Sparta Rotterdam and being jeered by his own supporters, Onana said he "did not give a s***" about the reaction of the fans. At the time, he looked set on joining Inter Milan and various reports claimed Ten Hag was growing tired of his attitude.

Onana was then dropped entirely from the Ajax squad for their Dutch Cup Final clash against PSV Eindhoven, which they lost 2-1.
